A Beginner's Guide to Wizard101 Pets - Final Bastion (2023)

Most casters farm some of the best gadgets in the spiral. They've spent countless hours in Darkmoor, Waterworks, Aquila... I could go on for a while. However, there is always one piece of the puzzle that many forget: pets. Having a good pet can be an absolute game changer for you. Wizard101 pets can increase damage, critical hits, stamina, and many other useful stats and talents. Welcome to the essential pet guide for beginners (or for everyone). Where do Wizard101 mascots come from?

There are too many different sources for mascots on Wizard101 to list. For starters, they can beBought from many vendorsalong the Spiral, in the Crown Store and at seasonal vendors like Eggbert or Felix Navidad (in the shopping district). Click here for specific information on pet sellershere.

Pets can also drop from certain bosses or be rewarded with quests. During the quest you will find various quests that will give you pets. You will receive one as part of a new tutorial updateBoots Mascotof aAltstadt-Quest. Then the elementary school teachers will provide you with a pet quest at levels 48, 58, 78, 98 and 118.

In addition to the above methods, participants canLuke their own pets with other wizards' pets to bring back one of the hatched pets or maybe even a new hybrid pet. This can be done in person or through the Hatchmaking Kiosk.

pet stages

A pet always starts as a baby. From there, you need to earn 125 Pet XP to become a teenager. This continues through all the different stages of the pet's life. The stages are the following:

• Baby bis Teenager =125PX
• Teen to Adult =250 EXP
• Adult to Old =525 EXP
• ancient to epic =1050 EXP
• Epic to Mega =2125 XP
• mega an ultra =2250 XP

Every time your pet levels up, except from Mega to Ultra, it will gain some kind of Talent. When you step up to Ultra, it's a little different. If you're just starting out, you'll certainly want to avoid going up to Ultra. I'll go into more detail about the talents later.

How to read the pet menu

Take a look at the image below and familiarize yourself with it to fully understand the following. There must be a pet in the backpack for this. Press "from' to open your pet's menu. Click the button next to the snack icon that says "Full talent view' in the lower right corner of the menu. You will then see the image below. I took the liberty of highlighting some of the features in this menu:

• 1. Pet preview– shows the appearance of the pet.
• 2. Pet Cards– all Spell Cards received from the pet (excluding card-dealing feats). Certain pets will unlock more as they level up
• 3. Manifested pedigree- the total value or power of all manifested (discovered) favorite talents.
• 4. Full Family Tree– Total value of all talents, manifested or not. This basically shows how much potential this pet has.

Note: Ideally, you want these two pedigree numbers to be as high as possible. Most good pets have an overall pedigree between 75 and 90 and an apparent pedigree of at least 40.

• 5. Talentpool- Shows manifested pet talents and the rarity of those that are still locked. In general, the rarer they are, the better they are. They range from Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare and Epic.
• 6. School and Speciesof pet
• 7. Experience bar- Shows the level of the pet and the required pet EXP to the next level.
• 8. The Pet Statistics– is displayed with the maximum possible values. These are some of your pet's most important attributes as they determine how effective their talents are. More on that later.
• 9. Utilities menu– Jewelry, view, tome, etc.

Understand pet statistics

Pets have five main stats that affect their talents:Strength,Intellect,agility,Will, jEnergy. The higher each stat, the higher your pet's talent skills. For example, a pet with maxed stats shown above will deal more damage or resistance in its manifestation than a pet with the stats shown below. This, of course, depends on the pet's manifested talents. If the pet doesn't have endurance talent, you can't expect it to give you endurance.

After your pet is fully trained, all of their stats should ideally be maxed out, but if you're still completing quests while training your pet, you'll increase the stats that your pet's talents rely on the most. For damage, increases your Strength, Will, and Power. For critical ones, increases your Agility, Will, and Strength. Endurance depends on strength, agility and strength.

These are the stats affected by each attribute:

• Strength It's a stat you need to increase for more damage, power pipe chance, stamina, outgoing healing, armor penetration, and stun resistance.
• Intellectaffects your Mana, Accuracy, Powerpipe Chance, Incoming Healing, Armor Penetration, and Critical Block Rating.
• agility It affects your Health, Accuracy, Stamina, Incoming Healing, Armor Penetration, and Critical Rating.
• Will affects Health, Mana, Damage, Healing Out, Critical Rate, and Critical Block Rate.

You've probably noticed thatpets happinessHe was outside. This is a fairly new attribute added to pets and doesn't affect stats per se. How to train your pets

Pets can be trained by completing mini-games in Wizard City's Pet Pavilion, accessible from the Commons. Each mini-game has the potential to give your pet up to 4 XP based on how you behaved.

After completing each game, you will have the option to feed your pet a pet treat. Choose wisely because the right snack can make the most of your pet's talents. Choosing the right pet treat can really affect how much your pet grows. Choose snacks that boost stats that you believe will boost your pet's talents and also give them XP. The best snacks in the game give 50-60 EXP. These are a special type of snacks called mega-snacks. These can be obtained by crafting, defeating certain bosses, gardening, or purchasing packs from the Crown Store. Gardening is by far the best and most reliable way to get Mega Snacks. Just like humans, pets have favorite foods. Snacks fall into specific categories: snacks, sweets, desserts, meals, or other. They are also classified by school. Each pet has two specific types that it likes, a food type and a school type.

types of talents

There are several types of talents that a pet can manifest. Each first generation pet has a set of talents they are born with. A first generation pet is an unmodified pet that has never been born with any other pet before. Therefore, the talents in your party are always the same as all other first-generation pets of that kind. Once a pet is hatched with another pet, the new pet's talents are shuffled from both parents' talent pools. The featured talent categories are:

Mage Stat-boosting talents

These can indicate your character's resistance, damage, healing, energy percentage, critical hits, or other stats. These are particularly common on tanks or heavyweights to boost their stats.

Combat Talents, also known as Will Casts

These are very similar to the May releases, but are actually released on demand. They're fairly new to the game, which means a lot of the talents are still unknown. However, much is already known, such as the fact that they will not remove any of his assistant's points. Also, they cost joy to cast during battle, so be sure to feed your pet some snacks!

These are talents used when exploring the spiral. As with combat talents, each pet can only have one at a time. Its function is to salvage items such as chests and reagents and give the mage something special in addition to the usual loot to collect these items.

This is where the Ultra Pet level comes into play. As mentioned above, leveling up to Ultra does not give your pet a new talent. However, there are certain jewel talents, many of which are very powerful (see some examples below), that require your pet to be ultra. So if you need any of these talents, take your pet to Ultra. Otherwise don't bother.

Hatching is a method of passing on desirable talents. By hatching with other pets, the resulting pet can have talents that are more useful to them. Each time it hatches, the offspring's pet will have a mix of each parent's talent pool. So, the more times you are born with a particular pet, the more likely you are to copy that pet's traits. This process of getting the talents you want into your pet's talent pool can be time-consuming and expensive, so don't get discouraged. It often takes a few tries before you start seeing pet pups start to resemble a desired pet.
